Rotavirus, you are rotten!

Rotavirus. It hit at 5 am this morning . The entire family was asleep except for one unfortunate 3 year old. He woke up his Daddio then sadly threw up on the Flutterparents’ bed. My poor baby!

I, Fluttermom, was asleep upstairs since Daddio snored too much last night.  Thank you Daddio for soothing our young tot and throwing the trash in the toilet in your attempt to get an empty receptacle for his next upchuck.

Our young tot is now watching Alvin & the Chipmunks as he recuperates from throwing up a third time. I just hope he drinks his Pedialyte over ice.

Oh, by the way, the lady at Walgreens informed me that the construction workers come in all the time and buy Pedialyte to drink. Who knew?

“This is one doodle that can’t be undid, homeskillet.”

Bonjour!

I’ve gotta let y’all know what has been making me laugh a lot lately………………Juno.

I’m in love with the movie Juno!

th_juno2

Okay, I know it was released into theaters in December of 2007, but it wasn’t on my radar back then. I saw it for the first time on Cinemax just 2 weeks ago. The movie is very sweet, clever, funny, and real. There are so many one-liners in the movie that I could be quoting for days. If you haven’t seen it, go rent it!

Want to laugh right now? Check out The Sneezing Panda on YouTube.

By the way, have you heard of jam skating? This is totally new to me. I spoke to a lady this morning and she said her kiddos compete in jam skating. Huh?

Apparently, jam skating is a combination of hip hop dancing & rollerskating. Its like roller disco for the current generation. Interesting.

My favorite things to buy at Costco

Hola!

As a mom of three ravenous and high maintenance offspring I have found myself running to the grocery store every day and spending WAY too much money. I am so sick of going to the store daily! As a result of my numerous unnecessary outings to Wally World I am trying out a new experiment. Here it is:

One week I go to Costco and the next I go to Sam’s Club. I will allow myself a weekly 10 minute stop at Albertson’s for bread, cold medicine, or whatever.

What I wonder is…..Will I save money? I know that I will save time.  And time is money, right?

I’m sure some of you only make one trip per week and I salute you for your forethought and self control. But I have never been able to do it without buying in bulk.

So anyway, I would love to know what your favorite things to buy at the warehouse stores are.

Here is a list of things that I have found myself buying week after week. These are finds that I have enjoyed.

COSTCO:

  • Smuckers’s Uncrustables
  • Refrigerated ravioli
  • Coleman’s Natural Hotdogs, I freeze some for later
  • Kirkland brand 100% Columbian coffee
  • Fuze Slenderize, very delicious
  • Kirkland brand juice boxes
  • Sushi tray

Well, that’s some of my favorites from Costco.

Also, I do prefer Costco to Sam’s Club. I think that Costco has more exciting and interesting products and their stuff just tastes better. On the other hand I like to go to Sam’s for items that I can’t find at Costco like small bags of Chex Mix for lunches. I think having a membership at both is helpful since they really sell different items. Also, I have found that I can buy food at the warehouse store for the same price as using a coupon or buying on sale at a smaller grocery store.

My biggest warning though is don’t go to a warehouse store hungry.

At Target you end up with an unplanned purchase of Archer Farms Biscotti and bag of Combos. At Sam’s Club you leave with 30 cans of soup and 48 bags of Combos!

I’ve found that I really do save money at the warehouse clubs and am able to feed my family of five for the entire week or longer without multiple trips to Wally World. How has Costco/Sam’s worked for you?
